This Privacy Policy is maintained in English. If we provide a translation or summary in another language, it is for reading convenience only. The English version controls to the fullest extent allowed by law.

CouplesGPT does not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

This Privacy Policy explains how CouplesGPT collects, uses, retains, and shares personal information when you use our websites, mobile apps, chat features, subscriptions, support channels, and related services (the "Service"). For the affiliate program, see the separate affiliate privacy policy on the affiliate site.

1. Who we are

CouplesGPT operates the Service. Privacy questions and requests can be sent to support@couplesgpt.ai.

2. The most important privacy boundary

Solo and intake conversations are not directly visible to your partner, but they can update your profile and CouplesGPT's internal relationship notes. Those notes can influence future couple conversations. Private conversations are not directly visible to your partner and do not update your profile, but they are still processed and stored to provide and protect the Service.

Couple conversations. These are shared with both partners in the couple space.
Solo and intake conversations. Your partner does not see the raw conversation in the app. However, the conversation can shape your profile, relationship notes, and later CouplesGPT responses in shared couple sessions. CouplesGPT is designed not to quote or reveal solo content directly, but your partner may infer themes or patterns from future shared guidance.
Private conversations. Your partner does not see the raw conversation in the app, and private conversations do not update your profile. They are still processed and stored for replies, safety and abuse handling, support, security, and legal obligations. Existing relationship context may shape the private replies you receive.
Profile and notes. CouplesGPT may use relationship context and profile notes about either partner to make responses more relevant. Those notes are not meant to be exposed verbatim to users.

3. Information we collect

Account information - name, email address, password hash, sign-in identifiers, email verification and password reset records, preferred language, timezone, settings, and account status.
Relationship and conversation information - messages, generated replies, conversation titles, couple pairing state, invite codes, profile notes, people mentioned in conversations, and relationship context used to personalize the Service.
Subscription and purchase information - subscription status, platform, plan, renewal and cancellation state, trial and discount eligibility, payment identifiers, charge/refund/dispute records, and tax or accounting metadata. We do not store full payment-card numbers.
Referral and affiliate attribution - referral tags, referral cookies, referrer relationships, attribution state, IP-based fallback attribution, and commission-related records when applicable.
Support and feedback - emails or support requests you send us, bug reports, screenshots, feedback text, selected app context, and diagnostic details needed to understand the issue.
Device and technical information - IP address, browser or app version, operating system, device model, mobile platform, storefront, locale, time, log data, security events, and similar technical data.
Push notification information - push tokens, platform, app bundle, and delivery environment when you enable notifications.

4. How we use information

We use personal information to:

create accounts, authenticate sessions, and keep accounts secure;
provide chat, couple, solo, intake, private, exercise, profile, and subscription features;
generate replies and personalize the Service with relationship context;
maintain shared couple access, invites, partner disconnects, and usage limits;
process subscriptions, renewals, refunds, discounts, taxes, and affiliate attribution;
send transactional email and push notifications you request or enable;
respond to support requests, debug problems, and improve reliability;
detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, fraud, security incidents, spam, and policy violations;
comply with law, enforce our terms, resolve disputes, and protect rights and safety; and
improve the Service, including product quality, safety, and user experience.

5. Legal bases for international users

Where laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR apply, we rely on one or more legal bases depending on the activity: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, your consent where required, compliance with legal obligations, and protection of vital interests in urgent safety situations.

6. Service processors and disclosures

We use specialized processors to help run CouplesGPT, including hosting, database, security, reply generation, email, push notification, payment, analytics, support, and infrastructure services. They are allowed to handle personal information only as needed to provide their services to us and under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.

We may also disclose information when needed to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect users or others from harm, investigate fraud or abuse, respond to legal process, complete a business transaction such as a merger or acquisition, or with your direction or consent.

7. Payments, app stores, and push notifications

Subscriptions may be managed by Stripe, Apple, Google, or another payment platform shown at purchase. Those platforms process payment details and may provide us with subscription status, transaction identifiers, renewal events, refund events, and related metadata. Apple App Store and Google Play subscriptions must be cancelled through the store account that owns them.

If you enable push notifications, notification platforms may receive the push token and notification payload needed to deliver the notification. A payload may include a short title or body, badge/count information, and an internal conversation identifier. You can disable push notifications in your device settings or in the app where available.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for login sessions, security, language and interface behavior, subscription flows, referral attribution, and abuse prevention. Affiliate referral cookies may be long-lived so a creator can receive credit for a later signup. We do not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

9. Retention and deletion

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service, maintain your account, resolve disputes, meet legal and accounting obligations, enforce our terms, prevent abuse, and maintain security.

Account controls may let you delete your profile, reset relationship memory, disconnect from a partner, or delete your account. Account deletion removes your active account record, sessions, push tokens, profile, owned subscription records, and the conversations the deletion flow is designed to remove from the active app database. Some records may remain where needed, including billing, refund, tax, accounting, anti-fraud, affiliate attribution, support, feedback, security, legal, and backup records. Backups are retained for limited periods and are overwritten or deleted on their normal schedule.

Deleting your CouplesGPT account does not automatically cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. You must cancel those through the relevant store account.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or a portable copy of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. California residents may also have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing. Because CouplesGPT does not sell personal data or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is no sale or advertising share to opt out of.

To make a request, use available in-app controls or email support@couplesgpt.ai. We may need to verify your identity and account relationship before acting on a request. Some requests may be limited by law, safety, security, billing, tax, fraud-prevention, dispute, or technical constraints.

11. International processing

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. When required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers and take steps designed to protect personal information under this Policy.

12. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No online service can guarantee perfect security. You are responsible for keeping your password, device, email account, and app-store accounts secure.

13. Children

CouplesGPT is for adults 18 and older. The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. If an update is material, we will take reasonable steps to surface it in the Service or by other appropriate means. The "Last updated" date shows when the current version took effect.
